Gig Reviews...

April 13th 2006 - The Railway - Ipswich

Another gig at the Railway in Ipswich! Was a strange night all in all. When we arrived at the gig, we were informed that not only were we on first, the guitar cabs normally supplied had been replaced with combo's amps ( That was Wes and G stuffed right away) but two extra bands had been added to the bill. Nevermind we said, we'll go on and do our thing and all have a good night. Wes and G legged it back to G's to pick the 4 x 12's up ready for the sound check and 40 mins set. All our friends arrived and the pub was starting to fill up nicely, time for the show. We opened with Requiem and from the first song things were going well and the punters were enjoying the show. Three songs from the end however the landlady struts over and tells us we have overun our set time and we had to get off stage right away MID WAY THROUGH A SONG!...not only that she was damn right rude about it all. Us being the polite young chappies we are stopped playing packed up and fucked off, taking half the pub with us.

Would have been a good night, but we dont like being treated like crap and it was way unprofessional of the land lady. We had not over run just a lack of communication on the pubs part as they cut our sets to 30mins but didn't tell anyone......Needless to say it's one venue we could do without so will not be going back. Real shame as it was a great little pub for live music in Ipswich, however there are 15 or so other venues offering the same...Their loss I say...........

March 11th 2006 - The Twist - Colchester

A last minute e-mail from the Team at The Twist meant we ended up playing at short notice last Saturday night! Always willing to help out, we packed our kit, told a few friends and headed off to Colchester for a slot at one of our favourite venues. Supporting us were some great bands both local and London based. First up were comedy band from Colchester " Lady Shapes", we knew this would be an entertaining set when the singer announced the title of their first track "Spikey Toilet". Only a two piece band with Guitar and Drums, but very entertaining to say the least. Next up were "Dead Mans Root". A great bunch of guys and a great band. Sounding like a cross between Kyuss, Orange Goblin and early Alice In Chains these blokes knew how to rock out, big style. Some great tunes and great shredding Guitar lines and a very heavy sound, check em out on Myspace, they are well worth it! Next were Hokum. A young Felixstowe Band and a very old sound. These guys are Prog Rock, and I mean real "Prog Rock" a good solid and entertaining band if you are into this music and great musicians. Reminded me a lot of Rick Wakeman's solo work. We were on last, and alas as normally happens at most places anyone plays, most of the bands had left by this point and low and behold took all their crowds with em so we played to a healthy crowd of about 20. Still despite G having a very bad cold and sore shoulder, Rit being stuffed with head cold ( not good for singers ) and Scotty recovering from flu!, we played a strong set that got a good response from the late night boozers. Both Wes and G had some good responses to their new Guitar set ups and sounds, as did Toms new Fuzzy effects in "Lies (aka, Alien Scum). And hats of to Rit for getting the Hokum boys moshing and dragging someone's Dad in there too. All in all a good night for everyone.

Next show is on 24th March 2006 at the Steamboat in Ipswich. See you all then and don't forget we have two new tracks for that one!

December 2005 - The Twist - Colchester

Back to the stomping ground of our youth. Although a little light on crowd at the front the overpowering heat of the venue gave a good atmosphere and as always Rit had people moving by the end of the set. It was great to get a 45 minute slot and really stretch our legs. The best part was that people just wouldn't stop telling us they had a good time. A lot of old friends were there and we think they left impressed.

July 2005 - The Standard - Walthamstow

Our first gig with the new kit and backline amps. It was superb. Thanks to all those people who made it out on the 7th. What a day it had been and we're glad you wanted to 'rock out'. As always the venue was great, and we got a great sound from the engineer who had to walk over 2 hours due to the transport chaos.

It was great to see Rit creating the biggest and nastiest mosh pit we've had to date.
